I'd really like to replace the 15A fuse in my lights to a 12A when I can find one. I know the head lights pull 10A but the LED lights on the back pull a little so I figure about 12A should pull all plus have enough protection against any short in the wiring.
I agree that a fuse no larger than needed should be used. I really wanted a 30A converter but I really liked the 20A converter that one of our members bought that had a trigger wire that turned the converter off with the key switch. So far this converter has worked well with my Auxiliary devices but I plan to install a radio/stereo system in the future and I am unsure of the amps needed to power it.

I would think the 15a fuse would blow just as quick as the 12a if their was a short

Good luck finding a 12 amp fuse?

I'm sure 20 amps will be plenty for your lights and stereo.
