Default 48 volt battery conversion!!!

Hey gang,

I have been going through the forums, but can't find the info on it. My buddies said that when I have to replace my batteries in my 2003 Club Car DS 48 volt model (6 x 8 volt sys.) I could use 4 x 12 volt batteries. So is this true? Would my cart charge the same and would this not screw up my OBC? Thanks alot.

When going to 4x12volt batteries reduces run time vs the 6x8v or 8x6v . 48volts is 48volts

Are they batteries made specifically for golf carts?

It may be worth it for you. A lot of people including myself, switch from 4-12v to 6-8v. 8v and 6v batteries give longer run times and by most accounts have a longer life. 12v batteries are becoming harder to find, with fewer companies manufacturing them. If they will fit in your battery box without alteration it may be worth trying a set.

Some advice , in the long run you will regret buying the 12 volt batts get 6 volt
That gives you the longest run time and life , my 2cents worth , do not cheap out on batts .
Cheers !
