Club Car Precedent Charger Question.
Can someone give me some advice about my charger. It seems that no matter how much or how little I drive my cart it takes 3 hours to recharge the battery. Drive to the end of the driveway=3hrs. Drive to the hardware store of approx 10 miles=3hrs. It charges full bore for about an hour then drops of to a charge of approx 5 Amps. If I remove the battery lids it looks as if the acid is boiling. I've read that this equalization phase is necessary sometimes but is it necessary all the time? Would I be better off adding a mechanical timer like I had on my old E-Z-Go? Is Club Car information about adding just the same amount of current as was used just a bunch of bull. And is 60V to high a cutoff voltage for the charger?
Thanks for reading |

Re: Club Car Precedent Charger Question.
I've got another question. With a Club Car 2010 Precedent that has a 3.3HP motor. It takes 80amps @ 48volts to produce 3.3 hp.(2.5kw). What good would it do to get a 500amp controller to run that motor? 500amps@48volts=21Hp and uses 15.6kw. It looks like you would just fry that motor.

Re: Club Car Precedent Charger Question.
Your stock motor would be fine going to a 500 amp controller, however, there are some other things that would also need to be upgraded along with it, namely, #4 or # 2 cables, all of them. and also, the main solenoid
