Default G29 Clutch Questions

Happy new years to everyone,

Can someone please educate my on clutches, I have G29 , 2008 , gas ,stock.
I am looking at adding aftermarket spring to driven clutch , found blue spring with load rates of 120# / 225#.
Will this be too much spring rate for stock drive clutch , if so , will increasing drive clutch weights be the correct fix.
Or should i drop down to a lighter spring load rate (yellow spring)

Especially when it comes to the finicky "Drive" Team clutches.

Not a site sponsor, but this guy has amazing knowledge on clutchs for all make and models. http://www.erlandsontechnology.com/ A stiffer spring (the stock blue/purple spring is just to soft) will defianatly help with torque and releasing the primary clutch to the open position. Good luck

If your clutches are stock, they are not working.. Would recommend the clutch kit from Plowmans, I have had good luck with a heavy duty rear spring, I put a brand new primary on, and a much wider drive belt.. All this was necessary on my 09 Drive, the clutches on mine were freaking shot. If I stopped on a hill, or stopped on uneven terrain it would not even move.

FYI, you can order a brand new primary directly from Team for $199, but before you start spending money you can get the extreme kit from Plowman for $370 and you get a modified Primary and Secondary Clutch, Performance Drive belt and a Jet Kit.

If they didnt do primary and secondary as a matched set, they did you a disservice. The newer primary was not designed to be used with the older team secondary.

So what type of issues will I be looking at due to the clutches not being designed to go together.
Will have to save up a few more pennies to get a replacement clutch if that is the case .

Well, first off, the belt length is different with the newer setup. Width may be different too. It may work, might even work pretty well, but if you are having troubles, you will neet to call up some of the pros (erlandson, plowmans) and start learning the info they can teach you about your clutches.
