Default 2001 EZGO TXT PDS Not working

2001 EZGO
36 volt
Make: TXT
Model: TXT Standard (PDS)

My cart just stopped working yesterday, solenoid is not picking up and I am getting a diagnostic code 4-1. I jumpered the solenoid and I still cannot get cart to work. Any suggestions would help.

Check for continuity on motor here are the following values

F1-F2: 1.28 Ω
A1-A2: 0.13 Ω
No continuity between A1-F1

Seems like I have a short in the winding A1-A2. What do you guys think?

Did low voltage test and motor works fine.

See if you have battery pack volts on the reed switch wire on the back of the charge plug on the cart, it is the small red/white wire coming out of the plug

What do you guys use as the reference when checking voltage?

Pack voltage
Which should be between 36 and 38.4
attach the meter to the pack - note the voltage - step on the gas a tell us what the voltage drops to when you try to go.

In your first post, you said the solenoid was not picking up, so let's troubleshoot that first.

With a PDS controller, getting the solenoid to click is a two step process. First the controller puts B+ on the Yellow wire (Pin-7) and then it puts B- on the Blue wire (Pin-6) when the pedal is pushed.

To get the controller to put B+ on the Yellow wire, the following pins have to have full battery pack voltage on them.
J1 Pins 1, either 2 or 3, 4, 5, 8 & 9
J3 Pins 1, 2, 3 & 4
Also, you should have B+ on J4 Pin-1 with pedal up and on J4 Pins 1 & 2 with pedal down.

Sorry for the delayed post and thank your for the responses to my cart issue. I've been on travel for work and out of town for the 4th. I just finished putting my cart wiring all back together so I could start troubleshooting with your recommendations. One problem the cart works again. I mean that is good but also very frustrating due to all the troubleshooting I have already done. The only thing I can think of is maybe a bad connection. When I went rewiring I cleaned all connections prior to terminating. Thanks again for all the help JohnnieB and Scottyb

Bad connections could very well have been your problem. It is 13 years old. I have a bad connection that acts up several times a year, that I need to eliminate. I just haven't gotten around to it.
