reinstalled torque spring and still same result?
ok took it all back apart removed the clip put it all back together and same result I lost like 8 mph belt gets really hot and so do both clutches?
I also checked my new belt and it is like 1/8" to a 1/4" wider put old belt on that is pretty stretched out and I gained about 6 mph but lost my bottom end climbing power so I am going to buy another new belt according to the specs on plowmans website anything else you can think of? |

For more low end go with the 1 inch shorter belt. See stickie. It is very important you get the correct width!

Re: reinstalled torque spring and still same result?
Yeah the belt ran fine before I put the kit in and after the kit went in it rode really high on the sheaves and was starting to wear the edges so if I put a stock belt on I should in theory get my top end somewhat back along with my bottom end?
btw thanks for the quick reply!!! |

Re: reinstalled torque spring and still same result?
I also just checked my new belt for proper size and according to the specs its the right size and model number ...so back to the drawing board gotta figure out why belt is riding so high and getting so hot it also seems like motor is running hotter
Also rear clutch is missing one of the ramp shoes and the others are pretty worn could this be part of my problem? |

I would like to learn from this too. My cart dropped 10 mph with the torque spring.

Re: reinstalled torque spring and still same result?
Yes you need all of your ramp shoes installed. Depending on what spring you installed the really heavy duty springs are so stiff that it will not allow the belt to ride all of the way down to the bottom of the secondary clutch at higher RPM's causing you to loose top end speed.

Re: reinstalled torque spring and still same result?
Yeah I figured that out replaced all ramp shoes and cleaned / degreased everything and just applied a small amount of grease on the shaft and now it runs awesome I still lost some top speed but only 1-2 mph not nearly as bad as the 10 I lost at first and i got the kit from

Yea I saw that in your other post after I did that. Glad it is working out good now. It makes a big difference.
