After researching snubbers it seems they are a combination of a resistor and a capacitor in series
that is placed across the main solenoid contacts to reduce arcing. Post#12 oxfordlawn removed it and seems to not have had problems. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...l-me-what.html This was on a resistor coil speed controlled cart. If just a resistor is used there would be no storage cap to ease the contact opening arc. Plus the Vglide would have voltage applied to it all the time. So in my previous post just using a resistor may not be the best choice. Need some expert here as I have no experience with resistor coil carts.
