Default 94 ezgo, need a new engine or rebuild

I have the opportuniy to buy a 94 ezgo gas but the owner said the engine went completely out. Not sure what all that means but what would a good used replacement or rebuilt replacemen cost? What are some usual problems with these that I might be able to troubleshoot? Trying to decide if I should buy it.
$300 is it worth it, it's lifted with a flat bed bud hasn't necessarily been well taken care of.

would help if we knew what engine is in there. two cycle or a 295 4 cycle. ok, pretty sure it is a 295 4 cycle. don't think is worth it unless it is good shape otherwise, then you could put a clone in it.

Depending on what is exactly wrong with the old motor $300 is worth it. See if you can get more info on why the motor "went completely out".

Thanks, let me try and get some more info.
Is there a good source for replacement engines, new or used and any ideas on cost?
