Re: still not charging
Test the generator out put, if it puts out charge voltage during the test replace the voltage regulator

Re: still not charging
You may have voltage regulator problems. Your next step would be to pull the connector off the VR. Check that you are getting +12 v. at the r/w regulator wire with ign. switch on and pedal pressed. If ok, then check if the starter/gen is capable of generating. Do this by momentarily grounding (connect it to bat -) the green wire at the voltage regulator connector while running the cart in neutral. You should monitor bat. voltage while doing this. This is the "full field" test and should result in a fairly high (16.5-17.5 v) voltage at the battery (if the gen. is ok). Do this only long enough to obtain a reading. If the cart is giving this high voltage, pretty good chance VR is shot. If it isn't, you need to check the generator field with an ohmmeter (should be around 5 ohms). Check back with results for more info. Good luck - RAY

Re: still not charging
Glad you found the problem but sorry your regulator is bad. They are a bit spendy, for what they do. Some day I want to get my hands on an old one and take it apart to see what makes it "tick". A lower cost alternative may be out there somewhere. RAY
