Default G9 running rough

Ok so I installed new brushes and did a ill tune up (plug and filter) nothing major, just want to make sure it's ready for deer season. Now it. Runs a littlet rich and and rough, if I choke it about 1/3 of the way it cleans up and runs fine. Also when this started I pulled the bowl and cleaned the carb. Please help I only have about 10 days left. Thanks

Make sure your airbox cover is sealed tight, any leaks and she's gonna run rough. Some of the guys that know more than me should be along to help you out as well.

Yes and they can be a pain to get on there right, sometimes you have to bend that rubber elbow in there to get it in the right spot as well. Bungee the top down if you are missing straps, they are cheap and you can just put a nut/bolt through the box if the catch is broke off.

OK - I've obviously got an air leak on my G2 -- It runs great -- when I have to choke pulled all the way out. I've just replaced the air filter - before I started it for the 1st time ever - I bought it as a non-running project. I've checked the airbox (twice) and all the hoses. I'm apparently missing something but I can't figure it out. I guess I'll pull the box off again.
Is the foam "pre-filter" supposed to have oil on it? Or is it supposed to be dry? On one of my G9s the foam was oily when I pulled it off a couple years ago - so I washed it out and put it back on dry. Is that right?

Foam is dry, it gets oil from overfilling the oil or lots of blowby. I would clean the carb and check fuel flow if you need the choke all the way on. Half way might show a jetting issue or airbox/etc, but more tells me fuel starvation or some major problem in the engine...or other big air leak like a cracked spacer under the carb/etc.
