I know all about side lining. This cart has had a permanent address on the side line for the last 3 months or so.

I had some time to work on the cart today. I was able to install the pedal box and throttle cable, along with hooking the throttle linkages up to the carb. I also installed the new bolts and sleeves in the leaf spring bushings. I started working on installing the rear brakes and brake line brackets but ran into a problem. I read somewhere that I should switch the brake assemblies to opposite sides due to the bracket not clearing the lift block, so the bracket and the brake solenoid tab(name?) would be on the bottom of the axle and have clearance.

My question is would the cables be long enough to reach now with the lift even with the brakes being switched? I will have to order new cables any way since the ones that were on the cart look pretty bad. I was thinking if I needed extra length I could just order Workhorse cables and have an extra 12" but I was sure if it would be too long and not be able to function.

Depends on the lift brackets you got but chances are the activation lever will hit the bracket hence why you swap from side to side. I have not had to change a cable yet due to length

I'm planning on selling it in the near future and don't want to put more money than needed.

Yep, hope I can keep the ball rolling. I will be building at least one more, it's sitting under a tarp waiting for this one to get done. But it shouldn't be nearly as bad since it's already gas. Oh and there will be another one which will be an older electric for the wife.

I'm planning on working on the cart in a bit so I will take some pics of the progress. Once I get it done I will do a separate thread on the process since this thread got off track for a while. Just in case you're thinking of doing this, here's the thread i've been using as a reference:

I was able to work on the cart a little this afternoon. I got the brakes/brackets installed. The driver side hub spins pretty easily, but the passenger side doesn't spin nearly as easy. I'm not sure if the brake line brackets will be ok, they are pretty close to the stock leaf spring mount. I'm hoping the brake lines won't rub on the spring mount.
