Inspecting the internal motor is far beyond me...I would have no idea what to look for. All connections are good. The F/R switch visually looks good. No issues with the ignition. I'd hate to spend the money and not be the controller or the motor... :-(

CGTECH - Can I bypass the controller even for a little to see if it is malfunctioning?

Not gonna help, the motor operates (at least intermittently), and there is no way to drive the cart while motor Controller bypassed.

If testing the inputs, outputs, and the motor is over your head, time to find a shop...

So, for the same cost of taking it a shop, i can take the plunge and see if its the controller. And IF they tell me its the controller, then its a win-win, otherwise I am just out the cost of the controller.

Thoughts?

Is this a drop in controller? Good deal for a slightly used alltrax compared to full price....

Also, here is a pic of the magnet beneath the speed sensor in case you see something I don't.

Magnet looks good. That controller would be a drop in replacement. I never buy the "N" series Alltrax controllers. They are not programmable like the others, and can't be setup to work with other motors than the (not so awesome) stock motor. It would work tho.

After going through again and cleaning and checking all connections, I did find this little plug not connected to anything! Anyone tell me where it goes? I know I didn't purposely unplug it, but it's definitely not plugged in now!I cannot see anything that it could be plugged into since it is zip tied to the wire harness.

A couple more analytical comments:

1. It does this in reverse or forward.
2. When the speed sensor is plugged in, the solenoid will kick in when rocked back or forth, but when i unplug it completely, the solenoid does not click. Either way though, the regenerative braking does not kick in. This leads me to believe now that the speed sensor was working fine.
3. I drove it with the speed sensor disengaged, it still did the exact same.
4. I have some custom lights that I installed, i went ahead and disconnected them and same.
5. I have checked all the batteries independently and as a whole, all are firing full charge.
