Lol gotcha...I think I will start with the existing motor first and see how it does as you suggest.

I would at least try it. Aftermarket motors are expensive.

Your stock motor will live just fine on 48v too. And 33% more speed & torque.

Yep. Did it use the same stock motor as the G2? I know the spline and rear end is the same.

So what would everyone recommend as far as the best controller and other parts needed to switch over to 48v? I'm in a hilly rv park so the more the merrier. Which controller 300, 400 or 500 would be best; and what other parts would I need to make this complete switchover while keeping the original motor? I would love to know the best route as well as most cost-effective if possible.

Thanks so much in advance for all of these great solutions :)

A G3 is a somewhat heavy cart, so I wouldn't go with a controller smaller than 400a. I would suggest the Alltrax SR-48400, a PB-6 throttle, all new 4g cables. The current solenoids are heavy duty enough for a 400a controller, but they may be 30 years old.

Another question... Would I be able to run 48v batteries through the existing original components without the new controller etc just for testing purposes? Anotherwords, can a stock G3 run 48v without making any other changes to the stock components?

I'm just curious since I have a mostly unmolested cart without any batteries; if starting with just new 48v system would word straight away?
