Re: 36 Volts upgrade to 48 Volt
Well, I thought it was already solid state, that is why I asked the question to explain.
Basically, this cart will be for driving around the community. There are some hills, however it is a street in Texas, not San Fransisco. I would like to raise the cart 6" - 7" depending on what is needed. I would like a 22" by 10" or 12" wide off road tire. Not that it will be driven off road a lot, I just like that tire design better than the "turf saver" type. I will put a rear seat on the cart for two other passengers. I am not looking for a race car, however I do want it to perform when needed. I am a huge Car Guy and go to a lot of Cobra club gatherings. These cars are usually very performance oriented. So having a wimpy cart is completely out of the question. I would like to build my own roll cage out of ____ wall material and put a snap on canvas type removable roof on it, so I can unsnap it and take it off if I choose. As for how long I would like it to run. Well all day of course. :) I know that isn't possible, and I am concerned about the run time after completion. That is the main reason I am considering upgrading to 48 Volts, to increase run time. What else ??? |

Re: 36 Volts upgrade to 48 Volt
Where are all the Yammi sparky guys???
OK, I feel better. You have a Series type cart. My guess is the controller is located within that aluminum box under the F/R assembly. The item you referred to as a regulator is your solenoid. I do not know if an Alltrax controller will fit in the designated space. It could be relocated easy enough, solenoid also. This would require making up some new cables and control wires. This is as far as I am willing to stick my neck out on a Yammi sparky as I have never even seen one up close. |

Re: 36 Volts upgrade to 48 Volt
yea, I caught that (solenoid) after the fact
I could move it anywhere I guess. I have all the room I need. I am certain I will get new, and larger cables when I replace the batteries. |

If the controller is the box surrounded by the aluminum cover, (first picture in post #24) it'll take me some time to get to it. I'll do though, no problem. |
