Re: electric motor bolts
When replacing motor get proper year model ( bushing and special lub ) from Club Car dealer so it wont ever stick.

Re: electric motor bolts
The special lube is just a dab of never seize or wheel bearing grease.

Re: electric motor bolts
IF ANY OF YOU HAVE TRIED TO PULL A STUCK CC MOTOR YOU WILL KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. So being a old time mechanic after I found my first stuck motor I started using what was available wheel bearing grease and when available similiar special products through the years ( never tried anti seize products ). After having same motor stick again within a year I used more grease thinking I just hadn't added enough? This time it was TOO MUCH and so it got into armature area causing the motor to smell like it was shorted and so had to pull a third time to repair. This is when I talked with CC mec in my area and he told me that there was MOLY TEFLON LUB #102243403 cost about $7.00 in correct amount and type for the "Bumper-Guide Ring" units that ( That I always replace when pulling motors ) CC used from 1992 and up. Since that time I have had no problems with pulling motors that I have lubed and find that Bumper-Guide Ring units are still in good condition.
I'm sure there are other exact products out there that do exactly the same job and if you know how much to use will work out fine, but I will stick with CC lub and know my motors wont be stuck when ever need to be pulled again. |

Re: electric motor bolts
I don’t think I’d personally use stainless bolts for that. Electric motor is pretty heavy and those bolts also handle a lot of torque. Stainless is a pretty soft material and id worry about it shearing off.

Re: electric motor bolts
Don't run it with only two. You would not want to drive a car missing lug nuts.
Remove the old as best you can and replace with whatever factory bolt you can get. they use the best grade of steel for the job. here is a write up on bolt grade, the strength of bolts really matters in this application. https://www.boltdepot.com/fastener-i...materials.aspx |
