Re: Yamaha g2 torque question
Is this the spacer you guys are talking about? I searched a few of the site sponsors.....couldn't find it. Here is link.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-GOLF-...item3cd1977e56 Now with buying that and the spring it is getting close to the price of just buying the torque spring at cpp......Which would be better? The umax, and spacer, or the cpp torque spring? |

Yep, that's it. If you don't already have a spacer behind the helix/spring seat, you will need it regardless of which spring you use. I'm thinking that OEM parts are better. The U-Max spring is only about $11. |

Re: Yamaha g2 torque question
Ok, heres my checklist.....
1. umax spring 2. spacer 3. ramp shoes.....do I have to buy anything else besides the shoes themselves? How tough are they to install? 4. new belt....Should I get just a replacement belt, or one of the double cogged belts? Also how tough is it to take the sheave off to install the new spring? Will I need a special puller? I have a harmonic balancer puller, and a 2 jaw puller. Let me now any thing I'll need to know to install this stuff. I plan on ordering everything, and installing hopefully next week.. |

Slayer, I did a little how to, in the G8 club, starting on page 457, if you care to look.

Re: Yamaha g2 torque question
Sweet... That helps a lot. That is actually the same puller I have so that answers that question....lol The ramp shoes though. Mine are completely gone.....Is there bolts I will need with them, or anything besides the ramp shoes? When I buy the ramp shoes should they come with all the hardware I need? I just want to be sure I have everything I need. Also what belt do you guys recommend? Thanks!

Re: Yamaha g2 torque question
You probably have the old style spring seat with push in ramp shoes. I think you can upgrade to the new style spring seat, and ramp shoes with hex head cap screw fasteners. Mike's pics show the new style. When my cart was stock, the cogged belt helped on the low end.

Re: Yamaha g2 torque question
I just got a new double cogged belt off eBay for like $41. The belt length is 39" and the width is 1 3/16".

Re: Yamaha g2 torque question
Thanks a lot for all the help guys. I ordered everything, and it is suppose to be here on Monday. I just got new ramp shoes....I couldn't really spare the extra money for the new style spring seat. I ordered the umax spring, ramp shoes, and the spacer. Is that all I am going to need for the install?

Re: Yamaha g2 torque question
If the ramps on the sheave are gouged or grooved, you'll need one of those also.
