Default Looking at buying a 2009 YDRE

I am in the process of looking at purchasing a 2009 YDRE. I plan on adding a back seat, 3" lift, and 22" tires with 12" rims. Do I need to do anything to the controller to help with the torque and speed? We drive in a campground and there are some hills. I don't want it to slow down too much on the hills.
This will be a change from a G8 gas, but am looking forward to the new challenge.

Thanks

You should be good to go. Love mine . I added a 6" lift and 23" tall tires with no change to the controller and had it turned up to level 4 (personal use) code . Runs like a champ . I've had several EZ-Go's in the past and this Drive by far is my fav . - Mayor

Thanks Mayor, your cart looks awesome.
Do you have to have a dealer turn up the controller?
With your 6" lift and 23's, does it feel tippy?

Thanks ! With any lifted golf cart you gotta be careful hanging turns wide open with the high center of gravity . But not really tippy drives no different then the other lifted cart I've had . My only beef with the 6" lift is what makes it look good the height . The rear step deck to get on the back seat is 20" off the ground . So if your not long legged (or an olympic vault jumper lol) that could be a lil aggravating getting on the back . But that being said love the way it looks. Guess you can't have your cake and eat it too . lol - Mayor

I did see that post from you about the height, that's why I'm thinking about the 3". Do love the look though.

So I need to have a dealer adjust the controller?

Thanks,

Kevin

Yes, dealer must adjust controller. No torque adjustment available, only speed and regen strength adjustment. Its a small controller, thats all the torque you get. Higher on the grid = more regen, further right on the grid = more speed, A through E are the 19mph settings and only available with ptv speed code.

You cant go wrong with a Drive,I have lifted 6 of them with Jakes 6inch kits and they are nice, just be careful of the torque they have. when you turn the wheel and take off they tend to pull the front wheel off the ground. Its will make you bite the seat a little.

I looked at an Antracite 2009 yesterday. They are asking $2800. it has a non folding rear seat, and a light kit. The only thing it had some nicks in the front and each rear wheel well. I need to talk to the owner and see what other ones he has. I don't want to have the nicks in it. I can paint it, but don't want to right away. We need to work the deal.

I think I will go with the 3" lift. A bit lower, but still looks good.

Now I'm a little concerned about the 4-12V batts. They were new last year.

Mayor, you said you have to trim the rocker panels in front of the Rear tires. How much has to come off?

Thanks
