Default No parking brake and will not engage to move sometimes

First i know I need to replace my brake, was riding one day and all at once the golf cart started smoking, i knew it was the brakes. now it has no parking brakes. although it stops and slows down quickly, no parking brakes. 2nd issue,, After this happened, when i turn on my ignition switch in reverse or forward and press the foot pedal sometimes it engages and sometimes not. the backup buzzer does sound. when it does engage you can hear a different sound and you know it's going to move. usually it may take about 3 or 4 tries. could this be a bad Accelerator / Brake Sensor or throttle sensor? Also your thoughts on why the brake engaged and burn up. I replaced the solenoid last year. Any help Please!!!!

First production year for RXV was 2008.

Post serial no. Should be a label on the bottom of the steering column.

A new motor brake will probably solve your problem. Having to turn the key on several times to get the cart to run is always a bad brake in my experience. You have normal braking because the RXV uses the motor for brakes. The motor brake is only a parking brake and emergency brake. Ebay has the best prices for a brake. Get a standard OEM brake. When you install it, tighten the three bolts evenly to no more than 50 in/lbs. If you don't have a torque wrench only tighten until the lock washers are compressed. The brake should be plugged in ,with the run/tow switch in tow and the key in neutral, when you tighten the bolts. Clean any corrosion off the bolts and replace them if they are damaged.

Thanks, I'll order a brake and see if this fixes the throttle issue also. I was wrong on the model year, it's a 2009. let me know if this makes any difference.

Thanks fellows
