I would trash the OBC and get a new charger.

Going out on a limb here, does anyone have a used 48 volt smart charger they would sell me? My friend I'm helping with this cart is a teacher and on a bit of a budget. Perhaps you upgraded to Lithium and have a new charger for that and can spare your old one? Let me know, I'm in Central Ohio.

Should I replace the OBC and keep the stock charger?
Or bypass it and get a new charger?
What would you do?

Yes, part of your OBC has failed. I would purchase a good smart charger going forward.

To bypass for a new charger, do I just run the black straight to the last negative, and curl up the grey wire and leave it unhooked?
