Removing brake lines from c clips
I am installing a lift kit on the rear of my 98 electric EZ GO cart which calls for removal of the brake lines from c clip. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? I have already removed the pins & cotter pins to the braking levers.

Re: Removing brake lines from c clips
Pry the "C" clip out with a small screwdriver, cable comes threw the slot

Re: Removing brake lines from c clips
Seems like they are in there really tight, do you mean pry the jaws of the c clip which is a metal bracket on my cart.

Re: Removing brake lines from c clips
The only c-clips I recall are under the floorboard where the cables come together at the equalizer spring. They get totally corroded from the battery fallout and will usually not survive removal. Replacements can be found at a decent hardware store.

This is a metal bracket toward the rear of the cart just before where the brake lines attach to the levers on the drums.

Re: Removing brake lines from c clips
Maybe I am trying to remove something I don't need to, but they do seem in the way. I have to get the axle on top of the leaf springs then put the new spacers in.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those. They get good and rusty too! May have to destroy them to remove them, but like I said, they can be replaced easily.

Re: Removing brake lines from c clips
I have not installed a lift so take it for what its worth, but can't you remove the leaf springs one at a time and get the axel rearranged that way?
