My 2 cents. It could be the FNR switch but the burnt white wire is not good. If it is the one that goes from the controller to the motor that is one of the control wires to "tell" the motor how much juice you want. If you want to try the FNR switch, jack up rear end, flip to tow, disconnect power, pull the switch out of the dash, the dash plate has two small push pin rivets, gently push the centers through and the rivets will come out. When you have access to the back of the switch, pull the wires loose, mark them first. Now isolate them from touching anything and hook power back up. Flip to run, touch center to the top wire and see what happens. If you get results, touch center wire to bottom wire, see what happens. If you get F and R this way, switch is bad. If you get same results as if the switch was in, probably the controller. If it is the controller, let us know and someone on the forum may have a used 1 for sale.. good luck
Also, side note, you can sometimes retrieve the push pins from the honey hole by sticking your arm through the switch plate hole and fishing with your fingers.. |
