If you are going to mod the Precedent you already know the type costs involved, I guess the question is whether you want a staight up trade (which actually sounds fair to me) and then spend another $2k or so for parts. You should assume you will have to replace the bats (do you know the year on the bats that are in the cart?). Motor, controller, solenoid bat cables around $1500. If you wanted to change wheels and tires it $400-700. Changing the body color by paint or new body about $400-550.

So, I totally agree with what you are saying. It's a personal decision and if you like what you have it would be cheaper to keeper.
