Badboy Classic Troubleshooting
Background: I'm new to carts and was just given a 07(I believe) BB Classic. I was told the cart has been sitting for years "b/c something stopped working".
Cart: It is a 48v dual motor 4x4. It has a Navitas DSE1000 controller(from what I can tell this is now the TSE1000). Problem: As the cart has sat for many years the batteries are bad but they will take a charge and hold it above 48v for about 30 mins then drop to about 46-47. I know I need batteries but don't want to spend a grand if the rest of the car is toast. With everything hooked up and "charged" I get a click then buzz from the solenoid. Then a click every time I hit the gas pedal, cart doesn't move. I called BadBoys and they told me to check the controller. How would one do this? Do these symptoms sound like any problems anyone has dealt with? Thx for all the input and let me know if I need to provide more info. |

Re: Badboy Classic Troubleshooting
Brownv1, the experts will be in shortly......so for now, CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!! |

Re: Badboy Classic Troubleshooting
I , a have a 2005 bad Boy and these people around here have been great giving me tips, instructions, Diagrams and encouragement. I got my cart and it had a bad controller, the batteries were kept charged so I am fortunate- I have put a new Speed controller and solenoid and wires and man is it fun- the four wheel drive has gotten me places on our 43 acres, that had been walked on in twenty years except for deer and turkey and critters
what part of the world are you in? |

Re: Badboy Classic Troubleshooting
a tip that someone here taught me- take pictures before you start- and take your time
and insulate you metal handles 48 volts will make a GIANT spark Clean all terminals, posts contacts- Corrosion will create problems ( the batteries are probably shot, but it is fun making everything Purty- I have posted some pretty disgusting pics of the cart before I got to clean it |
