Any manual with an ITS will work. In fact, many of the older manuals will still be good for newer buggies.
Not quite true. ITS voltages and mechanical adjustments depend on the controller the ITS sensor is connected to.

IIRC: Series drive and DCS are the same, but PDS is different than either and Alltrax is different than all of them.

You are correct that the year doesn't matter too much, as long as you are looking at the same drive type.

I was referring to adjustment of the ITS, not testing.

Since you have more or less eliminated the controller, throttle and batteries, that leaves the high current cables (13 of them), solenoid contacts, F/R contacts and the motor.

Monitor the battery pack voltage while climbing a mild to medium hill at full throttle.
Note what the battery pack voltage drops to under a heavy load.
Go back to bottom of hill and reconnect the DVM between the M- and B+ terminals on controller and go up the hill at full throttle again.
The voltage should drop to the same voltage (less about 0.5V) as the battery pack voltage dropped to.

Ok - I put my DVM on the pack and get 32.9 while under load going up hill. With DVM on controller - voltage is 30.9. From what JohnnieB said, that is too much of a drop. What should I look at?

If the voltage is dropping that far under load it is either batteries which you said you put in or something has a bad connection. After climbing a hill check for something hot in the high current path.

What do you mean high current path?

OK - thanks for info - still a newbie and learning terminology. The wire that goes to A2 on the motor is hot after driving up and down the hill a couple of times. I cleaned the terminals and still have same result. Could motor be bad? If so, will I have any trouble upgrading to a 4 amp motor - that should give me a bit more power than the stock motor - right?

OK. I thought I'd give it one more shot. I pulled all the cables from the motor and cleaned them up. With DVM on battery, voltage starts at 38.3 and drops to 34 when going up a gentle sloped hill, drops to about 32 or so on a steeper incline. Assuming that voltage drop is to much, what kind of voltage drop should I expect to see?
