Steering wheel adapter
I found a steering wheel on Ebay I like. It is a car steering wheel. Will a Yahama steering wheel adapter like the ones they sell on golf cart sites make this wheel fit my G14?
Thanks for your help Bob |

Re: Steering wheel adapter
Be sure the adapter is for "Yamaha" Golf cart.
Adapters exist in 3 holes, 5 holes, 6 holes and 5/6 holes (universal). Depending of the wheel you wish, choose the right one but yes, these adapters are for standard car wheels... 2 years ago, I installed an universal one from fssteeringwheels black model and it still looks perfect. |

Re: Steering wheel adapter
If its a after market steering wheel that will accept a adapter!
The center spline on the wheel must be removable!! Bolted on not made in the wheel. |

Re: Steering wheel adapter
Also bear in mind that car steering wheels havea smaller diameter compared to golf cart steering wheels. If that matters to you at all.

Re: Steering wheel adapter
Thanks for the help. It is an old school 3 hole wheel. I like the adapters sformal sent the link to. Think I am going to get one of them.

Re: Steering wheel adapter
I think they are on eBay also (direct)...
The 3 holes is cheaper, in my case I was needing the 6 holes but I preferred to order the universal. |

Re: Steering wheel adapter
I ordered a steering wheel and adapter from Jakes for my Yamaha G8. I went to install it this evening and the adapter is too big. The inner diameter (where the splines are) is too large. The adapter does not engage the shaft.
The box from Grant has a white sticker with the part number 3672 on it. Somebody (I assume at Jakes) wrote with a black marker on the box "6046", which I assume is Jake's part number. These numbers appear to be correct as far as Grant and Jake's websites. Aren't the steering shafts on all Yamaha carts the same diameter? |

Re: Steering wheel adapter
You should contact them to see if the right part was in the right box... They should help you anyway.
