Default gas smell

i have a g16 with a plowmans kit in it (carb &clutch) runs good but when i let off the gas going down hill the belt is tight enough it is still turning the engine over & i get a strong smell of exhaust & gas that roles back up into the cab area as soon as i hit the gas petal again & the motor starts & its gone. is this setting to rich or is their something wrong with the clutch? just didnt notice the smell when it was stock

Check the idle adjustment. Depends on if you have it set to idle or not. If not make sure the carb closes all the way with the pedal up. If you idle it then check the mixture and speed of idle.

If it has one its the little screw in the side, you normally turn them 1.5 turn out.

Ask Plowman about it, he is very good about cust service. If the carb is closed you should not get much out of it far as fumes.

Does it have that hose from the engine to the airbox or intake? Make sure that is hooked up or it will really stink, its all the blowby.
