Default G14 Wiring issues/Ground fuse popping

I need help with my Yamaha g14, first off the cart will run even with the negative fuse out of its slot, it runs like new once I put the fuse in but once I give the cart full throttle the fuse pops and its back to running like crap. I am a dummy with wiring and would like some pointers or steps to take. I really want this thing running by May 29 for when I go camping. I just put on brand new air filter, spark plug, starter/gen, fuel pump and fuel filter. oh and a new marine battery. Any help will be greatly appreciated thanks

Make sure no accessories are grounded to the frame. Can't ground anything to the frame on a Yamaha, it has to ground at the battery neg. post. Also, check to make sure you don't have a short somewhere grounding out on the frame somewhere.

I have all accessory wires going to pos and negative posts on battery, this may sound dumb but how do I check for shorts on the frame? Just look for exposed wire ?

Also the ground wire is getting 6 volts to it when I push the pedal to start what could be causing that?

Wiring is not my specialty either. Hopefully some of the electrical experts will help out here. But it sounds like something somewhere is grounding to the frame. I had a G9 with similar issues and I ended up making a new wiring harness myself with a littler larger gauge wire which solved many issues. Simply laid out old wiring harness on the ground, made up a new one, and then spliced all connectors to it and covered it with plastic wire wrap and electrical tape.

One way, is to put your meter red probe on the battery positive post, and put your meter black probe on an exposed (bare area, no paint) part of the frame. If you get a voltage reading, something is grounded to frame.

Also, put car in a dark area, make sure all current drawing accessories and key switch is turned off. Then take negative battery cable off negative battery post and just touch it back to battery negative post, if you see a spark when touching them back together, there is a short or something is drawing current!!

How many amp is the fuse that is blowing?

Also, if you have any accessories (lights, radio etc) on the car, those should be wired totaly seperate from the cars electrical system!!

Thanks for the reply guys, i wentwent am the way to 30amp and it still blew it, so instead of ruining the whole electrical system I'm giving my local cart shop some business lol let the experts figure it out I will let you guys know what it ended up being. Bought the cart for 1200 so I have some wiggle room as far as paying for it to be fixed.

Just got off the phone with the cart mechanic and he thinks my voltage regulator is bad and could be causing the short, I hope he is correct because I want it for when I go camping this weekend.
