Default 1990 CC Gas blows fuse when turning key on

I'm helping a buddy on his CC DS gas. When he turns the key to run it blows the fuse. We've checked for obvious shorts in wires, replaced igniton switch and solenoid. Anything else common I should look for? Thanks in advance.

Check post #10 in the following thread for that cart's wiring diagram:

That should help you narrow down the issue.

Thanks springbok. I actually found your diagram and used it this past weekend. No obvious shorts/breaks in the wires and it just started doing it out of the blue. I'm not sure where to look next.

Did you put a screwdriver across the two big terminals on the solenoid (bypassing the key circuit) to see if it will start?

Looking at the diagram I would start by checking out the blue wire that feeds the solenoid or the yellow wire that feeds the oil light. Those wires appear to be connected at the same post on the key switch and if they're shorting to ground, your fuse will blow right away.

The 12V+ comes in to the switch from the red wire and then feeds back to the solenoid via the blue wire. But since the yellow wire is also connected to that same terminal, it could be grounded out as well and be causing an issue.
