Default G1 gas

Okay so I have this g1 that I cant figure out. My c di went bad so I used the cheaper method of the 5 pin c di and the two 1n4004 diodes. It runs but when I push accelerator starts cutting out. Here's the funny thing. I can accelerate and touch the diodes where they are connected to the single wire that goes into c di and it will run fine. Take my finger off it it start cutting out again. Any suggestions.

I am not familiar with what your new circuit looks like but there is a possibility that you are getting false triggering of the SCR in the CDI from electrical noise. When you touch the diodes, capacitance from your fingers filters the noise. The fix may be to add a capacitor/capacitors to the diode circuit to bypass the noise. Good luck - RAY

I followed the diagram of the cheaper c di fix that was on this forum. Im not at all electronically inclined but I think I followed it correctly. Not sure of what you mean by capacitors.

Can you send me a link to that thread?

Another thing to watch, is you want to keep those diodes as close to the rest of the circuit as possible. Long leads act like antennas and pick up more noise.

Tried shorter leads but still same. Runs bout half way open then starts cutting out. Could it be I dont have a plug for c di. I found some single plugs to plug into pins. So thats five separate connectors in box.
