G2 intermittently won't start, cranks but no fire. Runs great when running
My G2 has been having an intermittent problem where it will run great and then just die. It will crank and crank and never fire.
It has fuel, and when I checked for spark I saw spark...but have no way to gauge if it's enough spark. All filters, carb, and pump are new. Fuel is not the problem. Spark plug is new. When it's running, it runs great. I'm assuming intermittent coil, cdi/igniter, or wiring issue. Is there a sequence recommended in checking these? What's the best way to diagnose this? Thanks Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

I'm assuming you made sure your starter/generator belt was tight and that the tensioner bolts are tight?

Pull tci box apart and check for corrosion and clean up.
What quality is the new parts My orange wire on the coil likes to fall off. The g2 is tci btw and not cdi |

x2 on the orange wire.
The coil has two different sizes of connectors but my spade connectors are both the same size. I used a pair of pliers and crimped the connector tighter before I put it back on the coil and it has stayed on much better. |
