Club Car DS hubs
Does anyone know the difference in the old style hubs and the 2003 and newer ones? I have a 2014 Turf 1 and it has the older style hubs on it so i was wondering if they were maybe stronger then the newer ones? Any information would be great so i will know if i should keep em or swap em out with the newer ones.
thanks |

Re: Club Car DS hubs
I think the older spindles are larger in diameter, so can not just swap hubs

Re: Club Car DS hubs
Old style hubs are much better IMO.
The new style hubs crack around the lug studs. Also, the older hubs use tapered bearings that you can re-pack. New hubs use single row ball bearings that you can't service. When they go bad you just have to replace them, and they go bad much more often because they can't be re-packed. I'm running one cart from 1993 that still has it's original Hubs and bearings in it. I've actually been trying to find a way to convert the newer carts to use the old style hubs because I just don't trust the new hubs. If you want stronger hubs, you can replace yours with standard steel 4 lug trailer hubs with 3/4" I.D. bearings. |
