Club Car DS clone motor starting issue
Hey guys, I have a 91 DS,that I bought with an original motor that had a bad igniter. I have since gone through all the steps of modifying a 420cc clone motor to fit, to accept the clutch, to get vacuum from the head for the fuel pump, etc, etc. Quite a learning curve and a lot of fun! I think I could answer a lot of questions for anyone going through the same thing so please don’t hesitate to ask!
Given that I am up against a wall, I have a starting problem. Cart will start when I feather the gas pedal, let it turn over for a few seconds then press the pedal down and off I go. If I put the pedal to the floor it shuts off like it’s shorting out. What I have done; Replaced battery Replaced solenoid Rebuilt starter generator Replaced all micro switches I have the original oil sending wire deleted and the kill switch wire is dead ended Other than that I’m up against a wall, I just want to be able to push the pedal and go! |

Re: Club Car DS clone motor starting issue
I'd try posting this in the "Big Block Talk" section of the forum. This is primarily the OEM section.
