Re: club car problem
yes the little pee tube on top of the carb is a vent tube. im going to assume you pulled the carb and gave her a good bath, inside and out. and set all your screws to the same spots as you pulled them out. realy only on that you have to do this. other mixture screw has a antitamper cover on it. if it had good power till you cleaned it up, i am wondering did it get put back together correctly. can you tell us what you did or did not do?

Re: club car problem
i did clean it an set all screws back. the pcv valve on the top of the tank was broke off. so it was leaking gas even with it shut off. but when i does run the pee tube on top of the carb does drain alot of gas down it. so would the pcv valve have anything to do with that?

Re: club car problem
No... your float is stuck open...
I'd suggest removing the bowl on the carb and make sure the float and needle valve are moving the way they should. Something tells me that the float is binding somewhere thats causing it to stick open (down) let us know what you find out! Pee tube... gawd ck... |

Re: club car problem
Could you have bent the arm that adjusts the float level? Not sure what the adjustment should be on these, but, if it got bent a little and the float hits the top before it pushes the little pin up into the valve to close the fuel supply, gas will continue to run into the carb. Also, I don't know if these have a fiber float or a brass one, but, if it is brass, you should not hear anything slosh around inside the float, if you do, you have a pin hole and the float will not "float" high enough to close the valve. If you have a fiber type float, it can get "waterlogged" with gas and it too will not "float" high enough. If you turn the carb over with the float in place, the float should not touch the casting. It should ride on the valve. If it touches the casting, it can't properly shut off the gas. also, you did put the needle back in that attaches to the float and closes the valve right???

Re: club car problem
he he he said pee tube! the vent on the fuel tank is a vent for the tank. it has a "pee tube" that might connect to a tee, or just hang there to vet the tank. the "pee tube" is a vent tube for the carb, or as you see a overflow tube. not a return tube as in a fuel inj system would have. pull the carb completly off, tear it a part and make sure you havent forgot anything or wobber jobbered anything. you should have a whitish plastic float, amuse us and make sure it is good and no fuel in it, and ensure all needle seats are where they need to be and no trash in any hole! basicly pull it aprt and reclean it again. and when you put it back tgether insure the float is floating, seals are intacked, and you "pee tube" is empty! its really going to be the only way to make sure all is ok.

If you have a fuel shut off valve on top of your gas tank, (red lever) I'd suggest you TURN IT OFF, take the carb back off and find out why the float or the needle valve is not stopping the fuel from flowing... running or not! Fix it before a fire starts! Oh...and make sure to check your oil for gas in it! (over full or smells like gas) |
