Does service manual give cylinder specs
I have a 1989 club car and I am rebuilding the old flathead FZ340/KF82.
I was going to order a service manual if it told the cylinder tolerences, to know rather I need to bore it out or not. So my question is does the service manual give this type of information??? |

No, the service manual only contains "general Information",
You'll need to order an "Engines and Drivetrain Components: Repair and Rebuild manual" specifically for your KF82 engine, that should give you all the specs you need!  |

I have a Maintenance & Service Manual and it gives all of the wear limitations for the flathead engine. I dont think you need anything else special.

cylinder bore taper( top to bottom)........... .006 in. Std. 3.15 in. (80mm)
cylinder bore (out of round)............ .001 in. piston to cylinder clearance......... .010 in. crank pin wear....... .002 in. Std. crank pin- 1.259 in. crank pin to connecting rod clearance....... .004 in. crankshaft end play....... 0-0.012 in. Adjust with shims Good Luck with the rebuild Remember these are Wear Limitations and not design specs. Last edited by Murphy; 10-27-2010 at 08:36 AM.. Reason: forgot something |
