Re: 1992 Marathon-Needs use of choke each start up
Thanks everyone for the advice! Now I just need to find someone open minded enough to do this for me, since I am mechanically deficient and husband refuses to think there is anything wrong. I'm sure my dad will check it out for me.

Re: 1992 Marathon-Needs use of choke each start up
Also, I cannot find somewhere to get a fuel filter for this thing, other than online, which will cost more to ship than to buy. The fine folks at Advance auto parts (no offense if anyone works there) seem to think that a lawn mower filter will work. Yes? No?

Turns out I did have time so here's a link. This fits both sizes! Bear in mind, this price is for my local store. Yours may be different! :) http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...011_0302754080 |

That will work just make sure you install it in the proper direction arrows toward the carb.

We dumped the old gas and put a new filter in. Put in premium fuel. Still needing a quick choke to get her going. But it's definitely running better overall! |

Simple...thanks for the link...that is the one I got. Husband installed it (I'm assuming properly since it works).

Re: 1992 Marathon-Needs use of choke each start up
As you use the cart it will clean itself out and run better. The filter will work either direction, but will clog up much faster if installed backwards. As " racin 161 " said, there is an arrow on it to show the direction of flow.
