Re: Pinion seal question
Ford check out Vintage golf cart parts. Look at part number BE230 it says 83-86 1/2 but it may work. OEM 14113-G1

Re: Pinion seal question
So I checked with vintage golf carts and they said they would have to get back to me and that has been a couple weeks ago. So at this point I am assuming I'm going to have to purchase a seal that is originally purposed for another use.
I went ahead and removed the clutch and took some photos. The photos below are exactly how I took it apart. I did not remove anything other than the clutch (No washers, seals, plates....etc.). The housing at the front of the differential seems to be ribbed or grooved where the shaft is sticking out but there is nothing there. Did the previous owner not reinstall something when it was worked on in the past? Does this look normal to you guys? As you can probably deduct from my previous posts any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Re: Pinion seal question
Has anyone seen anything different with their setup? I don't see any seals, but I am wondering if there is a seal further into the diff? Furthermore, has anyone put a wrench on the shaft itself? It looks like a 11/16 or so.. I have no experience with differentials, and I don't want to mess something up...worse than what it already is.

Re: Pinion seal question
Clean up the housing some, it looks like there is seal pressed into the housing. It's been so long since I had one of those that I have forgotten, but I think the seal or whats left of it is there.

Re: Pinion seal question
Ok Ford I thought there was a seal but in my OLD AGE I just couldn't remember So I removed the clutch on my spare cart and yes there it was So I removed it from my housing in hopes of finding a number but no good on the number. So with a dial caliper the measurement I think you'll be looking for would be as follows.
2.500 OD 1.740 ID .320-.325 THICK So yes there is a seal that goes in the nose of the housing and it will sit flush with the case when installed. LOU |

Re: Pinion seal question
I ordered the ezgo seal 14113-g1 in hopes that it would be what I am missing. But it's only made for 83-86's. And it won't be here for a good week, so I am all ears on a possible fix!
