Red-Neck Question
Gonna have to remove my Clutch to get timing cover off to check timing.
Problem is , there is not enough room between clutch & frame to get it Off. What would happen if I put a Jack under the motor & removed the bolts holding the Front motor mount to the frame . Would I be able to lower the motor down enough to Pull the Clutch , Looks like the motor would just swivel down. |

Re: Red-Neck Question
Yes, there are about 3 ways I can think of to skin this cat.......
seems to me I was jacking the motor up after removing a bolt or 2. That gave me the best access with the impact gun to run the puller in often needed to remove old clutch bolts. |

Re: Red-Neck Question
I usually pull 2 leaf spring bolts and jack the frame up to get clearance. Takes about 5 minutes to gain access.

Re: Red-Neck Question
Are you talking about the leaf spring bolts on both sides in the Back . I would have to unhook the Shocks also Right ?

Re: Red-Neck Question
Just the driver side front and rear, jack the frame to gain just enough clearance to get the impact in there. Normally you don't need to undo the shock, it has enough travel to get the bolt out.

Re: Red-Neck Question
Well I got out here this morning , Pulled the bolts from Driver Side Back Springs , Jacked this thing up & The bolt in the clutch came right Out.
My Homemade Clutch puller was the Main Bolt from a 2 Arm Puller which I had in my Shop 3/4 fine thread about 7" long ( only used about 2" of it ) with a 5" X 1/2 bolt with the head Ground off . Stuck the Bolt in the hole , put 3/4 Bolt behind it , Turned it about 3 turns after it got Snug & Off she Popped ( Easy ) Only thing is Timing was Perfect & Belt looked Great so the Wet Plug has to be in the Spark.
