I just use the ign hot side of the switch and have never had a problem with any of the carts I have done it on.

He would probably be fine doing that, but using a relay isolates all of the added current drawing devices from the factory wiring. A relay pulls much less current off the system than headlights, radio, etc...

I plan on hooking of headlight, turn signals, brake lights and the horn. I will look at it this weekend, but I believe there is a heavier blue wire from the starter solenoid that is fused that runs up to the dash and powers the accessories. I had to connect this when I added the light kit. If so I plan on adding the relay into the blue wire for the power supply.

When I installed the relay on my 94 ds I tapped the yellow wire on the key switch to a relay for my USB/power outlet and radio(same wire that works the low oil light)

Works like charm and I don't have to worry about turning off my radio or leaving something plugged into the power outlets draining the battery when I leave the cart(plus it makes a great reminder to remove the key)

My lights are led and I always remember to turn them off when I leave the cart(the only thing that would get left on is the hazerds switch if I get broke down somewhere which is led so it's still less of a worry)
