Re: 96 club car getting to much gas to the carb
Could be sticking float in the carb
Also check the intake box for obstructions |

Re: 96 club car getting to much gas to the carb
It's normal for fuel to spray out of the front of the carb without the air tube connected!
And yes... the air tube (and all of the intake) should be connected to the carb! Kawi FE engines are very finicky about their fuel/air mixture, and most of the time won't start (or run VERY badly) without the intake hooked up! I'm curious about your "fuel jet" comment... There are 2 jets... 1 is the main jet inside of the bowl, (#6) and the other is a low speed pilot jet on the outside of the carb body, (#13) (I'm guessing that your talking about the pilot jet) Click pic to enlarge: FE290carb1.jpg The main jet (#6) should in, and tight, The pilot jet (#13) should be 1 turn out! |

Re: 96 club car getting to much gas to the carb
Also check that the vent tube is clear. It's not numbered but it's just above the pilot jet (#13 in Lockman's diagram). If that vent tube gets clogged with dirt & debris it will use engine vacuum to draw gas from the float bowl - bypassing the float / needle & seat.
