85 Gas Club Car Performance Upgrade ?'s
What all have you done to boost the performance on an 85 Gas Club Car I have replaced the starter generator and the carburetor and its running good just would like to know if there is any additional things I can do just to give it a little extra torque and top speed. Thanks.

You can adjust the speed governor or remove it entirely. If you do remove it, you'll need to get a feel for the motor's limits so that you don't over-rev it and damage it. The governor on my '87 is removed.

Re: 85 Gas Club Car Performance Upgrade ?'s
Was looking at your pics and noticed that your cart still has the old Salisbury drive clutch on the motor. Club Car upgraded their drive/driven clutches halfway through the 1987 model year to a drive clutch with a roller bearing idler, wider belt, and better design. Might be a good thing to upgrade if you have power issues after your lift and new tires. You might not have issues but just something to keep in mind. I can't see from the pics which driven clutch you have.
