Default Cart runs poorly aftet hitting bumps

My 1989 cc ds will run poorly after hitting bumps in the road. It will run slowly and with out any power. If i hold the choke in, it will regain most of the power it lost. Usually this condition will clear itself in a few minutes or i will rev it out in neutral and that will usually clear it up. Any ideas

Thanks!

check your fuel lines, make sure all connections are tight and the pump is pumping fuel properly.

Make sure your motor oil isn't overfilled. Your vacuum-powered fuel pump on the side of the fuel tank gets it's vacuum signal from the crankcase, and if the oil level is too high, you could be hitting bumps and splashing the oil up into the vacuum hose that runs from the crankcase to the fuel pump, temporarily clogging it and causing it to lose power.

This is the nipple where the fuel pump gets it's vacuum signal from. The will be a hose going from here to your fuel pump:

I had the same issue on our cart when it was fully loaded with people (87 club car). It ended up being the seat was hitting the top of the spark plug and shorting out the connection. look under your seat for any indentations where the spark plug may be hitting the bottom of the seat and or any damage to the spark plug.

Our issue was due to worn out rear leaf springs and having the cart heavily loaded.
