golf carts are NOT like a car.....the ground in a cart is the battery pack.....you don't have a cable going from your NEGATIVE post down to your frame do you? NO, to complete the circuit you have to have a complete loop.

He guys, just about grounding to frame. I want to clarify that this is with a gas cart. I don't know about electric ones, with that said I'm an electrician but not an automotive electrician. This sounds correct what Raystar is saying as you have components running on 12v,24v,36v and even 48v in some cases. Cross feed through frame seems possible.

In the case of gas we only have 12v to worry about like a car.

Pictures... we have the cart pulled apart now as we are changing carb, gas lines, wheels and adding a back seat.
This is a slow go as I have 9 levels of my spine bolted together and a leg with messed nerves. This cart is our campground runabout.

Today I'll take pics even in the disrepair state and show how these leds work in reverse. We actually changed it and have connected two 6 light leds and it's plenty of bright. The change was because where I had the strip will be covered by the rear seat.

Stay tuned. Same Bat Channel... lol

My 2001 has a ground strap running from the battery negative to ground lug on starter to a case bolt on the motor. Both the motor and starter/generator are bolted (grounded) to the frame.

Let me know the first time you jump on your cart thinking it was in forward but was in reverse,
hit the gas and back over your motorcycle in the garage.

Do you have a beeper on your pickup or car also?

I tapped into the reverse alarm to trigger a relay to power back up lights. Best of both worlds.

No, but my pickup or car don't start when in reverse or forward.

It's not like a front-end loader warning people around you that
you're backing up, it's to let the driver know which way he's going..
