Things to check.

Under the plastic cover in front of the battery, there is a fuse, solenoid, voltage regulator and ignition module. Check the fuse (if engine is turning over then the fuse is OK) and all connections around here. common fault also is the connectors for the coil and the electronic pickup. If you can check for a spark again and you have one, pull the pulse line off the fuel pump and see if you have a pulse with engine turning over. If not, pull the pipe and clean it and try again, it may be sludged up. Also there should be a filter in the fuel line, check that it is not blocked by replacing the "now" working pulse line and pull off the hose that goes from the pump to the carb, and use a spare piece of hose pointed into a jug or similar receptacle. turning over the engine should give a pulsed flow of fuel out of this hose. If you have spark, and good fuel flow, then you probably need to clean up the carb internals. These are the most likely items giving you trouble.

There also is a wire by the reverse buzzer that corrodes at the connector, I think it is a green wire, the fuse holder under the cover by the battery is another place where the wire corrodes off.

For some reason I was not getting notified of replies! Thanks, for the responses. I think I need to check the pulsar next... I got a new spark plug tester and I get a brief. very dim spark just as it is winding down from trying to start.

I had/have a PDF manual for it...but, cannot find the **** document.
