Cart no longer starts...engine won't turn over and belts sputter

2001 Ez-Go TXT Standard Cart, Gas engine
Cart was working just fine and minutes later I went to turn it on and the engine won't turn over. The 2 belts turn intermittently for about 30 seconds but that is as far as it gets. Was in use, on/off, just minutes prior. Any troubleshooting tips? Stumped as to where to begin.

if "The 2 belts turn intermittently" I would look at the battery voltage first. If the battery gets low it might not turn the engine fast enough & consistently enough to start & run. Also the EZGO's ignition system uses power from the battery & charging system to fire the spark plugs. Too little power and you won't have the spark to run correctly. If the voltage is too low (much under 12.6 volts at rest) would need to test further to determine if it's a battery problem or a charging problem.
