Need some help - Bolt coming out of clutch
Went out to start my 1986 Marathon. Started just fine, but then made a weird noise.
I noticed that the bolt that screws into the rear of the clutch and into the crankshaft was very loose. The clutch was sliding back and forth. I screwed the bolt back in but as soon as I start the motor, the clutch bolt loosens and backs out. What is going on? |

Pull it out and check threads if they appear to be ok I'd throw it back in and torque the bolt and see what happens I can't remember the torque spec is maybe someone will chime in with it

Re: Need some help - Bolt coming out of clutch
Page K-2 of the manual says to make sure the shaft is clean. Set clutch with mallet, install washer, LOCK WASHER, and Loctite 222 to threads. Torque bolt 55-60 foot pounds.
