What engine, year? Why did you grind the valves, did you grind or replace valves? Have you run a compression check, before and after? How did it run before you took it apart? Have you checked cam timing, belt is correct? |

Re: Gas EZGO running problem
Someone had put oil in my petrol, I didn't know and the cart started smoking, I thought I'd burnt a valve out or something so removed the head and the Pistons were spotless also the head itself, so decided to reground the valves, fit new wave stem seals, clean the oil filter, clean the carb, reset the timing with the MARKE correctly aligned and new head gasket, reset valves, new filter, started up runs like a pig, won't pull you out of bed, emptied the petrol tank, new fuel, started great but still won't pull great, prior to this the buggy was running great, so now there is oil getting onto the filter housing from the crankcase breather, correct amount of oil on the stick, no lift kit fitted, so have a think and let me know, Thanks

Re: Gas EZGO running problem
Well all that sucks! LOL
I had some of the same issues you are having, running and oil in box When I rebuilt my 1996 295 engine, I had to adj the valves 3 times. They would go out of adjustment after running a few miles. I think the threads in the rocker get out of speck! I also had to RECLEAN the carb. I found a micro speck of trash the 1st cleaning broke loose and had plugged the passage for the run jet, very very small passage. I would also run a compression check just to make sure. |

Re: Gas EZGO running problem
Just a thought here, just check that a valve adjuster lock nut has not come loose and one of your valves has gone tight and is not seating, this will make it run on one cylinder and give the symptoms you are having.
As i said in my reply to your PM. The items i listed and the ones in the post's above mine are valid. Also, when you ask for help on here, please give all the relevant info for all to read as i recall your PM mentioned a new carb was fitted at the same time. The issue is most likely here as i stated in my reply PM last night. and i am sure that others will agree that if you bought a cheap one, file it under T for Trash and clean and refit the/an original carb. |
