Default G2 Steering box rebuild??

I was wondering if there was parts available to rebuild the steering box on a G2. Also are he G1 and G2 box the same?
I pulled my G2 box completely apart and cleaned it and packed it with new grease. The steering is still clunky and rough. I am thinking new bearings are in order. The tabs that sit in the worm gear are worn and could use replacing. I am hoping parts are available.

I'll try to explain what I do know and what I can remember. All "worm shaft/pitman" type steering on Yamaha's (G1 thru G2/G9/G8/G14 ect) use the same "worm shaft" (current part# JU5-F3840-00-00). But, the "pitman shaft and box" is not the same for G1 and G2's and up. On G1's, you could change out the pitman pins, G2 and up does not show that as an option. The bearings are the same on all of these style steering box's (part# 93332-00010-00). Normally, when the pitman pins are damaged, the worm shaft is also. I may have some NOS pitman pins and if your willing to try them and your worm shaft is ok, I'll send you 2. Lastly, Yes pack the box with grease! Jack up the front and adjust the pitman adjustment screw in a 1/4 turn at a time while turning the steering wheel with your finger, when you feel a bind, back off the screw a 1/4 turn till there is no bind. Sorry to say...that's the best it's going to get.

Hello. I know this is an old thread, sorry. I have a lot of up and down travel with my G14 pitman arm. Wondering what's the easy way to access and remove the top plate to pack the box with grease?

I don't know jack about carts and just picked this one up the other day.

Thank you!
