Re: 2019 G29 transaxle oil replace
I missed the year, I was going off the thread title. Service manual says 4 years.

Re: 2019 G29 transaxle oil replace
Did you find the fill and drain plug? I have a 2015 G29 gas and can't find the darn plugs.

2019 G29 transaxle oil replace
Quote:
Here’s a link to the manual. It appears you drain by removing the diff cover and fill in the inspection/fill hole on the diff cover. I have a 2016 G29 but have not done mine yet. So I can’t confirm. https://golfcars.yamaha-owners-manua...9626-11-15.pdf Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: 2019 G29 transaxle oil replace
I've just done mine (2015 G29). I changed it because there was a slight leak as the flange on the cover had been bent at the bottom.
I took out the 13mm AF bolts and removed the cover. The oil was fairly clean but there wasn't much in there (it needs 355ml) I straightened the cover and replaced using Permatex ultra black RTV and left it an hour before fully tightening. I filled the oil through the black grommet and away you go... Took about 90 mins. |

Re: 2019 G29 transaxle oil replace
Can someone PLEASE post a photo that shows where the drain plug and fill plug is for a 2016 G29 gas golf cart? Thanks, Mike

Re: 2019 G29 transaxle oil replace
I will check the manual to make sure it is the same cover as the electric and if it is I will post.

Re: 2019 G29 transaxle oil replace
The fill plug is the round rubber grommet under the label on the right.
There is no drain plug, you need to remove the diff cover bolts (see manual extract above) If you want a real picture I'll post one later (it looks identical to picture attached) |

Re: 2019 G29 transaxle oil replace
Use an oil extractor to get the oil out(one of my best investments). Then a pen magnet to slide across the bottom through the hole if there is enough room.

Re: 2019 G29 transaxle oil replace
I thought of that too but as I also wanted to hammer the flange on the cover I decided not to. Having done it then I am glad I didn't use the oil extractor as the job was so easy and it gives an opportunity to inspect the diff.
