'97 ('98?) EZ-Go carb
I found a carb diagram (can't post a link yet) on this site but there is a small difference between that and the actual carb on our cart. The diagram shows one vent or overflow hose off the side but ours has 2 (the 2nd is lower near the choke shaft).
This weekend we were having trouble keeping it running and found that this 2nd hose was squirting out (not just dripping) gas. This was choking out the engine so it wouldn't hardly start and run (choking even a little made it run worse). We're guessing that the float valve might be stuck open and will open it up to clean tomorrow. Why does one carb have 1 small hose and another have 2? I personally think it would be better to send an overflow back to the tank rather than dribble all over the engine and ground (fire hazard). I think I can see "291ac" printed on the top. |

Cleaning the carb took care of the problem. The float valve was sticking.
