Default 1988 ezgo marathon gas golf cart aftermarket muffler and pipe

Hey so I dont want to spend $100 on a new muffler if I can possibly go aftermarket. Is there one I could put on or retro fit on to work?

It's a 2 stroke motor and as such, requires a certain amount if back pressure to run without grenading. People have tried various things but I don't think anyone has successfully gotten a 2pg or 3pg motor to run right with anything BUT the OEM exhaust.

Mufflers for an 88 are getting hard to find, I'd say if you plan on keeping the buggy and can find one get it. Especially for only $100.....

I tried to buy a new one for my 85 when I rebuilt the engine a few years ago but everyone in the country was 'out of stock', and the price at that time was well over $200 before they ran out. Just did a search and found the 85's are available again and cheaper too at around $100, hmmmm.

You really can't go wrong if you can get it for $100, buy 2.

The 1988 2pg is a vertical muffler. I have been unable to find one anywhere, for any price. Could you share your resource? Thanks
